It’s super fun to make these simple coasters and they make great gifts. They’re easy to make and don’t require any special skills. Plus, they’re a great eco-friendly alternative to paper coasters.
In addition, they are a great scrapbuster for using up leftover fabric after a project, or just for making a dent in your existing scrap pile. They are also a great way to add some personality to your home or decor. Plus, they cost almost nothing to make, so they’re a great bargain.
You can sew a set of six or eight on your sewing machine in an evening, and you can make them the size that best suits your needs.
In the featured image here, the designer color-grouped the coasters she made in shades of gray (not quite 50 of them though!) because the quilted coasters I made were a special request from her sister, who isn’t a fan of bright colors.
One bright-colored one was made specifically for her, by her, however!
Unlike other coasters, these ones can’t break or make noise on the table. In case of spills, you can also wash them! Additionally, when they are being used, they are absolutely wonderful at soaking up a significant amount of condensation!
