I can’t believe how easy it is!
Any 12-inch quilt block can be used to make this charming pocketed placemat. You can embellish it with lace, or not, or make your own version.
There is no restriction on what type of block you use as long as it finishes at 12 inches. Using orphan blocks in this way is a great idea.
These placemats can be sewn perfectly for any season, or you can give them as gifts as well.
Lace, whether vintage or new, will work well. Depending on how narrow or how easily the lace will tear if it is cut in half lengthwise, the tutorial specifies doubling the length needed.
