DO YOU HAVE JUST 6 FAT QUARTER PIECES OF FABRIC JUST LAYING AROUND? THEN USE ‘EM!
If you have a few leftover fat quarters just sitting somewhere, and I truly mean just a FEW (six fat quarter pieces of fabric total, REALLY) and you had thought you wouldn’t ever be able to make anything with them, think again!
Here is a free quilting pattern that will show you how to make one of these incredibly cute drawstring bags in about an evening, depending on your skill level.
This pattern is classified as an intermediate pattern.
Other materials you will need, other than 6 pieces of fat quarter fabric, include the following:
- 2-1/8 yards of 42-inch wide fabric for the handles and bag lining.
- 1/4 yard of 42-inch-wide fabric for the handles. Although felt is suggested, you can use any fabric you choose.
- 22 inches of 1-inch-wide non-roll elastic
This bag, called the “Fat Quarter Drawstring Bag,” has many uses, just a few of which could include an overnight bag, a great gift, or a very attractive purse!
